Thanks Ken, it's hard to tell really without seeing it with the color and lightened but I think you're on the right track. I messed around a little more with mine by lightening it and then using a layer mask with gaussian blur but I don't know if I like the results. See when I lighten it I can still see all that light brown splotching only it's not as visible because it's more of a lighter burgundy. I am still trying a few things but love all of the helpful suggestions. Thanks everyone.

Awww thanks Craig. I'm so hard on myself when it comes to these things. I'm my worst critic. I'll post if I get it cleaned up more.

tk,

you're welcome

and trust me, i think everyone here is their own worst critic. you shld see me sometime zoomed in on a 12 megabyte picture pouring over pixels only to zoom out and realize 'IT'S ALL WRONG!', at which point i go kick a wall, a handy, nearby cat, or anything that happens to be moving in my vicinity. needless to say the neighborhood cats steer clear of my house now (actually, i love cats and would never harm a hair on their self-centered souls ).

no telling how many 'almost done' pictures i have on my harddrive with the idea that 'i'll get back to them soon', or how many have driven me crazy trying to get that perfect look only to end up 20 versions later worse off with the last one than the first one.

so, if it's any consolation, you're not alone

Craig
