FFT black canvas on a baseball card hello: I am using the FFT RGB filter on a baseball card. I did the FFT RGB filter and got the static canvas screen as shown in the tutorial. But when I select the red channel by itself, I get an almost black canvas and no stars or center. I am working on the background layer only, everything has been flattened. This did not occur the last time I used this filter. Can you give me a tip on what I may be doing wrong? JGeddes

Hi JGeddes Do baseball cards have texture? You seem to be doing everything correctly. Even if there were no texture you should see a cross on a grey background Could you post a sample? Ken

baseball cards I scanned the card at a very high DPI and if I reduce the card to a small size I am able to get the stars. But trying to work with the large size image 15x19 @ 240 DPI produces a black canvas in the red channel.

If you scan @ 150 DPI, you'll be OK. Is that really 15 inches? Or is it 1.5" @ 2400 DPI? Rô |

Small File Produces Proper Effect Scanning at 600 DPI allows me to get the desired effect.... The original was scanned at 3200 DPI and too large.

Thanks for the Help! Yes the image will be a 16x20 sketch so I wanted to start with a deep scan since the card is only 3x5. The 600 DPI will easily transfer to 16x20 with an expanded edging. JGeddes

Hi JGeddes Thanks for posting a sample but Rô spotted the problem. I have just run some tests on an image 4000x4000 With FFTrgb red channel is black. Then I tried with FFThsl and that was the same. Black channel Then I tried with Image Analyser and it worked. Stars working fine. So the other way round this problem is to install IA available here http://www.retouchpro.com/forums/software/7210-freeware-image-analyzer.html Ken
