chrome bowl - not stainless steel - HELP!!

Here's a before and after, and I'm not pleased. Any suggestions?

No big deal... I isolated the inside of the bowl as part of my original outlining, eye droppered color from outtside the bowl and painted out the bad reflections. Then went back in and hazed with white after setting the levels to a more grey value. Then added pure white till it looked better. I just can't get what I think is a chrome look.

i desaturated the bowl and lightened it a little, maybe this helps?

Higher contrast and a touch of highlight in the bowl to make it look more reflective. Any help?

Maybe I'm just too hard to please.

Getting the shot right in the first place with a tent probably would have been the answer. I thought while shooting it I could Photoshop in stuff to get rid of the studio reflections, then I sent the product back to the client. I won't ask for the product back but will know next time to build a tent. I know this stuff but THOUGHT I could make it. I was wrong. You folks are great to chip in. Thanks!

As for the chroming I think at the moment it's too much like stainless steel, I think the source image and the way it was photographed could be a problem, the lighting is directly visible in the reflections. Perhaps distorting real chrome or made chrome could be considered. As you have noted faking chrome is never easy.

LOL... gave this chrome thingy a shot... then looked at the date of the original post (May 2006)... Me thinks the problem might be resolved by now!

But, seeing as I went to the trouble of making a quickie sample, before I noticed the date, I gonna post anyway!
