Phat, the link works this morning.
I.M.O. there is something unnatural about the blown areas in relation to the rest of the exposure. My guess is that the "auto" adjustment applied by either:
1. The camera's View/Capture software OR
2. By Adobe Camera RAW processor
I would expect that you would get a much better starting image by opening the original RAW file with
PS BUT turning off all of the Auto settings, and not applying any of the Camera settings to the file. You can then view in
PS exactly what the camera sensor captured and from there make the appropriate adjustments.
Also, when you import the image, be sure it is at full resolution and 16 bit.
