Re: raw - AHHH

Airdale, congratulations and welcome to the 35 MM world. "Where is the zoom?" is a question I have gotten many times from 1st time SLR users upgrading from point 'n shoot cameras. Turning the lens will become natural to you in a very short time. It's a faster process and more accurate than the electronic zoom. You will be very pleased when you start playing with Depth of Field.
On the LCD, the question is no. The viewfinder is WYSIWYG (what you see is what you get). It is more natural and more accurate. You will also find a ton of info at the bottom of the viewfinder window if you want to look at it. The results of the shoot will appear on the LCD afterwards while the image is being processed and stored.
Enjoy the wonderful technology and the experience!
Regards, Murray
