Need help with cloning hair.

Does anyone have any good techniques for cloning hair? In most cases like this I would just copy the adjacent hair to a new layer, move it over the desired area and blend it in with the Healing Brush. This always works quite well with low res images (in fact with a low res image even a sloppy cloning job would probably suffice). But how would you approach a high resolution image? Attached is an example where the ear needs to be cloned out.

Many thanks.
Syd

Re: Need help with cloning hair.

I'll start by saying what I've done isn't good enough but have you considered the liquify filter? I gave it a shot and it shows promise but I'm not real experienced with liquify... maybe someone else can do better with this.

Make a selection of the hair to the right of the ear and copy it to a new layer. Then work with that layer in liquify to cover the ear. I was using the 'push left' tool.

I like that Sean! Would never have thought of using the Liquify Filter. I shall definitely give your method a try.

Many thanks
Syd
