help please

im kinda new to the restoration thing and this is one thing im having trouble with is bringing detail back to photos like this. can anyone help

Hi Shane,

I'm sorry to say, that you have a lot of information missing in this photo. You are going to have to get a bit creative to bring much back a lot of the detail to these faces. If you have any other photos with a better look of the faces, that would be helpful in reconstructing these faces.

This is a very rough example with borrowed parts with an emphasis on the rough. Dave Cox is very correct in his analysis of this picture. Also, is the original on a textured paper? I ran this through an FFT filter.

Very nice work dc, but (sorry about this but) I would be very careful in not creating crossed-eyes.

I don't do much of this type of work. Could you be a little more specific what is not correct? I may have gotten the incorrect look by using and doing a horizontal flip of the right eye.

The horizontal flip is perfect. I would move the iris & pupil to the left a bit, to eliminate the crossed-eyes look.
