I Need Help Doing a Seamless Selection

I have a photo of an energetic bunch of children but the background behind them is VERY distracting. How can I seemlessly select all of the children without having to enduring the pain of trying to magnetic lasso around them? My goal is to eventually place them in front of a different background.

You might want to try using the Extract tool. Works reasonably well.

Hi Ivan,
take a look at GML Matting plugin here, http://www.retouchpro.com/forums/sof...-released.html
works really well and is "free"
This was a really quick "sloppy" try, you will be able to get far better results with care.

the plugin is still avail.... in fact i downloaded it yesterday evening to update my older version of it...

Now the website gave me a lot of problems... either wouldn't open or if it did open links didn't work right but late yester day evening it appears everything finally working right.... here the link I donwloaded the gml matting from ...
