making snow?

does anyone know of any tutorials on making realistic snow. Not falling snow, but ground-covering. Any help would be appreciated.

I think there's a Challenge for this, might be some ideas there.

Lokas Software has a snow filter.

Do you mean something like this?

I did this by adding a layer of white, and using the blend if option at the bottom of the layer style dialogue. When using the blend if option, you will notice 4 sliders a the bottom These are acually 8 sliders. If you alt click on the sliders, you can separate them, softening the effect. I did this one by pulling the right slider for theunderlying layer to the left, and then separating the slider, and pulling the left half a little farther.
