Any tips on enhancing cheekbones?

Depends on the photo. If they (the cheekbones) are visible from the start you "just" need to realistically darken the shadows that show they are there in the the first place. Probably the best way to do so would be to create a curves layer that darkens that tone, inverting the layermask and then paint the shadows darker with a soft low-opacity brush.

If they are not there from the start you need to figure out where to place these shadows - start by figuring out the light direction. Possibly you'll need to suck in the cheeks a bit with liquify to make it look realistic.
