Image problem from cell phone cam

This image is very dear to me - too bad all i had was a cell phone.

Let me know if you think its fixable. When I try to bring up the color - i just enhance the noise too.

Aloha

What software are you using to "bring up the color?"

After you post your less than 100K version, you could link to a site that is hosting a larger version.(like imagevenue.com or pixentral.com or photobucket.com)

how big is the original file? you might have better luck if you post a file larger than 100k...

Re: Image problem from cell phone cam

Thanks. The original pic is small, just 141K. The max I can attach here is 100K, so I resized it.

Your attempt looks good enough for me. Better than I did.

This can be helped some via LAB mode, if you have access to it.

What I did was:
  1. Looked at the original file's color channel data. Noticed that the Blue channel was awful, while Red and Green were just dark and kind of noisy. Figured fixing that first was a good idea.
  2. Copied the image, and converted the copy to LAB mode.
  3. Blurred the heck out of the A and B channels, leaving L alone. This smeared the colors, but left the overall sharpness where it was.
  4. Converted back to RGB mode, and copied only the B channel back into the original. That got rid of a lot of the noise without affecting the data in R and G.
  5. Used Curves to do an overall color correction and brightness adjustment.
  6. Used Hue/Saturation to get the overall colors brighter. (Could have done this in LAB, but I got lazy)
  7. Select>Color Range to select the wall colors, and Hue/Saturation to reduce the saturation.
  8. Ran Unsharp Mask with a high threshold to sharpen things up some.

It's not finished, but it looks like it's at a point where it can be worked on.

Re: Image problem from cell phone cam

Sorry...I use pspv9 that has a replace colour tool so that got rid of the yellow streaks colour and then smudge did the rest.

I wasn't too happy with the little girl's face in the other so went over it again.
