Welcome to Retouch Pro, Nah.

Markzebra is trying to say that the photographer used excellent lighting techniques while taking the original photo to get much of the final result. He may have done some dodge and burn in the highlight and shadow areas in Photoshop, but if he did, he was very subtle in the application of D/B.

You need to start with a good picture.

Interesting, I'm not sure I have ever seen a photographer leave a shadow outline on a wall or backdrop. I like it.

Re: hello i have question about technique from con

Hi guys...

Believe it or not... they BOTH needed a great deal of work. The photographers are both excellent in their own rights... in the Wayne Maser/Paris Hilton shot, I had to reshape her VERY square jaw and dramatically make her body less wide. Some contrast curves, a dress recolor and and some clothing fixes also needed to be done. Let's not forget she's wearing a wig and contact lenses... wig tape and bad lenses had to be "hidden"..

On the Spicer/Paul Mitchell shot, she needed a huge amount of corrective surgery....

thanks for the kind words though

-conrad
