Photo Paper Texture - What's best way to remove

Favorite photo of my mom has an awful texture problem. Have spent way too many hours on it. Would like to know what is the best approach to removing the grain, but keeping the sharp details. The photo is hand colored. Thanks.

put in a border of 50% grey, at least 100 pixels wide, all around the photo, and then do the FFT process

FFT action, filter, brush found at:

free (non-comercial version) and a paid version. If you own your own biz then pay its cheep. If you jsut edit for fun the free version is great.

Re: Photo Paper Texture - What's best way to remov

Amica, I was excited about the tutorial and trying the FFT and IFFT. However, the links for downloads from the tutorial did not work. No matter, I just asked Google, found and downloaded the plug-in - think it was from bestdownloads.com. On my photo, however, I could not see the stars or get it to work. I tried a photo from another member of this forum and it worked a little, but not well. I had to use the green channel, rather than the red, to see the stars.

Next, I tried neat image, with much better results. Now I just need to cut my photo up, as it will only do a smaller portion at once, with the demo version. It did not remove it completely, but it is significantly better.
Thank you, Matthew!
