How to fix skin with blood vessels showing?

Is there a easy way to fix skin with blood vessels visible? I tried smoothing out but the vessels are still visible in pink. I also tried clone stamp but the skin looks very unnatural. Any suggestions?

Here is an example. Blood vessel may not be the most accurate description. "patches of pink/red' on the leg is what I am trying to get rid of.

As a quick fix...duplicate layer and switch off the view of this layer. Select the only the skin of the bottom layer and copy it onto it's own layer, then blur to suit taste (This layer is now in the middle). Turn on the top layer, desaturate it, sharpen it slightly and set blend mode to luminance. Now adjust the opacity of the layers to suit.

This technique works pretty well for this.
1. Duplicate the background layer

Re: How to fix skin with blood vessels showing?

Sorry
1. Duplicate the background layer
2. Change that layer's blending mode to Overlay
3. Invert that layer
4. On that layer, Filter>Other>High Pass
increase the radius until the color and anomalies are gone
5. Next, Filter>Blur>Gaussian Blur
Start with a high radius and gradually reduce it until a smooth effect takes place
6. You can also make a Hide All (black) mask and paint with white selectively at about
30 opacity
