| Re: need advice on hair & eyebrows I worked very quickly on the brows useing the burn tool and then a hair brush. I'm sure they could be much better with a little more time spent. Maybe need to be a little darker. Nan |

| Re: need advice on hair & eyebrows Personally, I like your fix MTP. I don't expect "glamor" when someone's just getting a tan in the back yard. |

| Re: need advice on hair & eyebrows OldBaldy, I understand the eyes. As a matter of fact I did the exact same thing but she thought it made her look eveil so I toned it down to ware she liked them. The hair for the most part I wanted to macht our left her right to the reds in her hair and to try and get rid of the frizzy strands at the end. Here is a link to a better resolution. I included the before and after just so everyone can see the differance. here is the retouched version http://i145.photobucket.com/albums/r...y/IMG_4091.jpg I did use the screen method to lighten the photo as well. |

| Re: need advice on hair & eyebrows Swampy thanks for your input. I dint try to go for the glamor magazine look. I try too some what keep it real (ya right thats why we retouch). In my opinion the magazine shots are to fake and don't look real and just gives people a complex of what they should look like. But thats me might not be everyones else's opinion |

To even the frizzies on the shoulder careful cloning on a separate layer so you can use the erasure, blur or mask to create evenness.. As far as matching the color of the hair.. pick/sample the brightest, reddish part.. create a new layer change it to color, paint all the hair, change opacity to how you want it.. BTW.. I think what you have done so far looks mighty fine! |

| Re: need advice on hair & eyebrows Working on the hair know. Took yesterday off of the pc. Side efects of chemo sort of made me. Will post my final image today. Sometimes I over do it. To me I can never finish one of my own pictures. I always find something to change or fix on them. |

| Re: need advice on hair & eyebrows Hello Mtp, All I did was to lighten up the photo, soften her face, applied a small amount of makup to her lips, eyes, eyebrows, whitened her teeth and eyes, cloned out some hair on her forehead. This is what I call a nice casual "happy snap", I learnt long ago that if time and place permits to get the subjects to at least brush their hair, it then makes it easier to adjust the rest of the photo. All I did to her eyebrows was to highlight them a bit more. 1. make 2 new layers and call one left eyebrow and the other one right eyebrow. 2.highlight the right eyebrow layer and magnify up to 300%(bottem left hand corner of photo, backspace out existing % & type in 300 press enter). 2. Get brush tool resize to 3pixels, black foreground 100% opacity and trace along eyebrow.(this looks awfull but bear with me) 3.Go to filter->blur->Gaussian blur, set radius to 1.5 approx. (you only want to blur the edge of the black line not blow it out, move the slider up and down you will see what I mean)press ok. 4. Now go back to the layer and slide the opacity to "0" then slowly slide it back to the right to get the depth of color you want.(In mine 48%) Now do the same thing to the left eyebrow. I use this same principal on all makeup, Eyes, lips, cheeks etc.,(I do blow out the blur on cheeks to get that brushed look) I hope this helps. Barry.
