selection aberration

A small problem that perhaps someone may be able to help with.
When I attempt to put a new sky into an image, I select, feather and paste into, but I always seem to be left with a light 1 pixel line where the new sky meets the image horizon line. How do I blend the new sky to the image

Results could vary depending on bit-depth, color gamut, and resolution differences between the images. However, assuming they are the same, many people will select, expand by 2 pixels, then feather by 1 pixel in order to minimize the fringe. There are also numerous other techniques, such as blurring a border selection, painting on the border in various blend modes, etc. You try some and stick with one or two that work the best for you.

I used the technique to mask the sky.

Then set the layer stack order...

Top: Masked layer
Middle: balloon
Bottom: Original palm trees

Hi there

Rather than paste into.... duplicate and use a mask...Much easier to adjust that way.

Thank you folks, will try them all out later and will post as to how I get on. Am using Ps2 and would love to upgrade to 3 one day. But at the present, have come home from a 6 week trip through from Vancouver, the Rockies, Montreal, New Hampshire,(in the fall ) Seattle, Vancouver and home again and amassed over a thousand images,( a big % only rubbish though ) these all taken in fine, sunny, usually cloudless days. Marvelous scenery and wonderful people where ever we were. Vancouver is a fantastic city.
