pls help its my grandmother's childhood photo

i have done my level best in this one.i have corrected a lot.but still the image looks very dull.so much corrections required.was planning to give this photo framed as a gift to her on her birthday on dec19. pls can any one pls correct the image .

I did some simple changes to your image.
1. I converted to B&W to get rid of the yellow cast
2. I extracted the image of the girl, reversed the selection and saved to it's own layer.
3. I changed the blending mode of that layer to Multiply and copied several times to make the background darker. I merged all these layers down to one layer.
4. I applied a mask to the above layer and drew a gradient across the mask
to simulate the light coming from the left.
5 I merged all layers and applied a sepia tone to the image
6. I cleaned up the edges of the girl.
7. I made a empty layer set to Softlight Blending Mode and with a soft, black brush at 30% opacity painted in a bit more shadow.

tried to clean it up a bit and add in details that seemed to be missing hope ya like it and let me know what you think kept the yellow cast because i think it adds to the picture i kept the full size image of the edit in case you want me to send it to you

I like ktg222's version, as having the light source change and a little background really helps with the eye appeal and keeps it looking antique.

pls if possible . the left hand shoulder and the right hand looks very dull right.pls can u just do a little tweak at the right hand in that photo .

lusant2 i liked it. but ktg222 effect gave a more originality. i really liked the way u retouched the right hand .if i could get the right hand also corrected in ktg222 work . hup hup hurray .this forum rockssss.
