I am stuck

I had to photograph this image through glass it was stuck to. Then I fixed all the splotches ..... ect. It got away from me and I "blew it out". Can anyone tell me how to bring the image down as a whole. The highlights lost everything. ANy help would be appreciated. I tried levels/ curves. the flag should be scarlet and gold. Not the red I have there. I am an amatuer and am lost. Thanks, rem49

If you have CS3, add a Black/White adjustment layer above the image. Just click OK then set the blend mode to Luminosity. Then go back to the adjustment and play with the red and yellow sliders till you get something you like. You can paint black on the mask to remove any red that gets added to skin tones.

The hat should be fine, since it is supposed to be snow white.

I have CS (I know ...stone age!) Anyway I can still do layers, Thank you for the help. I will give it a try, Dean
