Oh for sure I did a real fast attemt because I have an appointment and I also work in an industry that likes it that way it would probably help if you specified more what you think mine will probably be the most smoothed but depends on what you want it for also. Pat

I am not talking about the smooth look, i like smooth skin, but i feel the face look is little changed, open my original shot and your edit shot and swap between them both and you will see what i mean.

Re: My daughters photos for improvement

Again I see what you mean and it all depends on what you want it for. I try a lot of the pics and put them in context of my work. I am very new at retouching but still like to try. I like her the way she started out..... Pat

Re: My daughters photos for improvement

Improving an image is very subjective.. some people feel that you should not touch a hair on their head while others want the plucked eyebrows and hairless face look... same with marks on the face some want them left alone others prefer removal... light skin, dark skin, olive skin all a matter of preference... plastic like skin or skin where you can see every pore... Glamour, High Key, Low Key... Plus lots of variables within all of the above... Sometimes all that is necessary for an improvement is a new background..

A list of the "improvements" and/or a picture with the offending things circled or marked for improvement would be very helpful in determining your desires..

Also, Please don't use external links as the only source for images, externally linked images should only be made available as a means to provide larger, higher resolution images or as a backup for attached images. By attaching the image to the post it will be viewable forever.

The following links may help!

Size and quality for Attached Images!

After you post your less than 100K version here, you could also post a link to the site that is hosting a larger version, as you have already done..

Re: My daughters photos for improvement

I agree with Palms the pictures are very nice already.. and I might add... a lovely girl!

On my versions I realize the face has changed.. she is now a pretty young lady instead of a pretty little girl.

My work flow consisted of trying a bunch of different things till I stumbled upon something I liked.. in other words I was just practicing different techniques and approaches till something good happened! (in my eyes anyway!)

Re: My daughters photos for improvement

Thank you very much all.

About the pics uploading and posting i didn't know about the size and so, i was just looking to post larger pics and for that i just posted a link and not attach the photos, but if that is not allowed or not preferred then i will try to decrease the file size and attach it.

OB, i like your edit/retouch very much, shows the ability of retouching any photo, and i hope i can learn lighting better way, so i don't need much workflow overall including lighting.

About the improvement preference and it is subjective i agree, but many many times when i post my photos just for show and not for comments or critiques there are many or some people talking much about my lighting or my retouching or posing or composition and so and so, for that reason i post my photos and see what is missing or what required improvement i should apply before i post? and yes, sometimes i like some kind of lighting or effects but others don't like it, should i care about that then?

Hi there, this is my first post...great pics, pretty girl---I thought I would give it a shot. I admittedly took a bit of artistic license on the second one...

Re: My daughters photos for improvement

The double catch light in the first photo (the baseball cap one) is very distracting and needs to be removed. Other than that, I agree with the rest in that these pictures are very nice in and of themselves. This young lady is very beautiful.

OlBaldy, I agree with your removal of the catch light and of the crop of the second picture. Both of them make the eyes that much more stunning.

Janet

Your daughters are beautiful and perfect - they don't need improvement.

Re: My daughters photos for improvement

Thank you very very much :-)

I am so happy for your retouching, so amazing how many results we can get of one shot!

I love my daughter and i am proud of them, but they can't help me to do studio photography with them that easy, i feel i always suck in lighting with them.

Re: My daughters photos for improvement

Wow!

Great pictures, great jobs, but stunning little girl with incredibly beautiful eyes!!!!

Couldn't resist ... changed the background and simply brought to light the beautiful little face and added some contrast and sharpness.
