Re: Help, girl's Stomach retouch

Hello and welcome to RTP,

I Healed patched the lines away. Then liquifyed the belly button and side to smooth the curve. Finnished it off with some D&B. Its not the best work but its an improvemet. Changed laptop color to blue...

Working on high resolution may yeald better results. Always work in new layers as if you mess up, they are easily fixed. You may also wand to copy a good belly button from somewhere else, as this one is smooshed.

Hope it helps,
-Keven

Taking Keven's work a couple of steps further, I defined the hips a little more and painted and dodged the stomach skin some.

I would agree... the stomach needed a little more definition (looked "flat"), I just didn’t know where to start. Good work, I think the hot spots a little too hot though and should be toned down a bit. But sides that i really think what you added was for the better.

It may be best if you did a Google search on 'Photoshop dodge and burn tutorial'. There is plenty of information out there.

You also should search these forums on the subject.

Re: Help, girl's Stomach retouch

When it comes to D&B, there are some face tutorials (one of the better ones), pixel editing to smooth out tones. But i do not think that there is anything about there for body D&B. Overall D&B is for contouring and making things pop.

I have learned a lot of that from makeup artists and how and where to apply makeup. But still they focus mostly on the face.

HERE is where I talk about contouring. Basic concept of contouring is light inner and dark outer. Makes things look 3D.

Reworked the picture a bit... and here is my softlight layer showing my D&B contour. I also color corrected the whites to be white.
