turn plaid into a solid color?

turn plaid into a solid color?

is there any way to do this? i'm trying to turn a plaid scarf into a solid color. ugh!

use a solid color fill and then dodge&burn the shadows and hl's as a starting point

Please attach an under 100k sample (so the thread remains useful in the future, regardless of external links).

To attach an image scroll down and click "Manage Attachments" under Additional Options.. if it is a REPLY then click "Go Advanced" below the reply box then scroll down and click "Manage Attachments" under Additional Options...,

After you post your less than 100K version here, you could also post a larger version at (3Meg max, free) or (2Meg max, free) or (1 Meg max free,... 5 Meg PRO)-- then post a link here in this thread to the site that is hosting your larger version.

I would go with pixelzombie's method. It certainly would be quick. The only hard part is adding back the shadows. It may be possible to grasp them from the old scarf; examine the image under LAB color mode. Examine the lightness channel and experiment with increasing contrast to build a luminosity mask that can be used to underlay the color fill layer for building shadows.
