Help! Need some inspiration!

I'm trying to retouch this image but just can't seem to make it 'pop'

I've sharpened it, adjusted the levels, used the clone stamp to remove the remove the person in the background and did some d&b on her skin... now I'm stuck! Would love to everyone else ideas of what to do with this image

Before retouch

Re: Help! Need some inspiration!

I noticed a green towel on the sidewalk behind the lady. Since she is sort of tilted I thought I would change the background a tad.

Re: Help! Need some inspiration!

Here is what i came up with. Mostly just a lot of selective editing. Then lastly some nice out of focus blur. See the screen shoot for more details.

Hope it helps,
-Keven

I guess I'm just an old fuddy-duddy who isn't up on the younger generations oblique view of things,..... Soooooo, I went old school and straightened and cropped then adjusted the highlights and shadows some and added a curves layer

Re: Help! Need some inspiration!

Thanks for the old school take on this OLBaldy - I must've had vertigo when I took the picture

Kevan thanks a lot for the screenshot! It's really helpful. I really like the blurred edges. I think I am also going to desaturate it a bit.

The top being too short is really bugging me, does anyone have any tips on on to make it longer?
