Special High-Key Photo: What did the artist do?

Ladies and gents,

I found this picture on myspace and I am wondering how the retouch artist has achieved this effect.

Ideas and hints appreciated!

Cheers, Stefan

Re: Special High-Key Photo: What did the artist do

Looks to be shot with a fairly soft light from the left against a white background, and then a lot of contrast added in post. It's not terribly sophisticated post processing, if you ask me. In PS simply use brightness/contrast or open levels and push both ends in toward the center.

Some of the skin lightening may have been handled in the BW conversion stage. Would have to see the original. But in any case, with a similarly lit shot I think that effect can readily be had through relatively simple brightness and contrast manipulations.

Hi,

try the "Pog's Mono Renditionizer" plugin in PS and you can finetune every B&W image.

Succes
