I want to make this look retro

Hi all,

I'd like to give this a retro feel. I've been playing around but can't seem to get the colors and tones the way I'd like. An eeriness might be cool too. I'd love for you to get your creative juices flowing, then tell me how you did it!! I am always wanting to learn new things. Thanks so much!!!

Also, what would be a good title???

Re: I want to make this look retro

Ooops. I just realized that I may be crossing boundries. I thought I could post this here for people to play. If that's not the case (which now I'm thinking it might be), please forgive me. I would love advice and guidance to help me achieve the retro look. Thanks again.

Re: I want to make this look retro

They're both great! Nisa, I love that sepia color! It works really well with this pic. Andy, I LOVE your version. Okay, I did it exactly as you explained and it's not coming out as good as yours. Mine has more contrast but I'm sure I'll be able to fix that. I wonder if adding texture would be too much. What do you think?

Thanks so much!!! I love both! It'll be hard to decide.

Re: I want to make this look retro

I love this too! I've tried different actions but none make it look this good. Where did you get the action or did you create it yourself?

Nice job. Thanks.

Hi Jane,
took this into Virtual Photographer and used the "bygone era filter" then duplicated the image and set opacity to 30% on overlay,

Gary, that's very cool. Now it's getting even harder to decide! I like the darkness. It really makes a statement. Thanks!!

Tareq, what adjustments did you make to get more reds and less yellows? Did you change the solid color or did you use the channel mixer? Or something else? I can't get it to look like yours and I like yours better than the action. It pops more and I just like the overall tones better.

Thanks in advance!

Re: I want to make this look retro

You asked for eeriness so i used Chillins pic , darkened it slightly and added the "Chucky" effect

I did some editing by Photoshop, i just don't use actions to apply on shots without more editing for more appealing.

Re: I want to make this look retro

Thanks so much everyone! I didn't realized more were posted! I love all of the variations! Chucky is very freaky. Ha! That is great!! I really appreciate all of your efforts. I ended up doing it the way Andy showed me and it pretty much looked like his. I love the ones (for instance, the one above by bkravchenko) with the yellow tones. I would have never thought to do it that way. It was so hard to decide because they all have their own unique qualities. Thank you, thank you, thank you for helping me!!
