Re: any suggestions on how to fix this image

av107,
I'm thinking that no, not very much. However, sometimes a higher resolution image can reveal a bit more. Do you have one available you could post on an external site ?

It appears there will not be much recovery of the eyes and other areas in the shadows. The areas that are not black, or not completely white may reveal quite a bit more.

Again, the 30k image is just too pixelated to work on with good results.

Welcome back to RetouchPRO Hope you enjoy your stay here and make lots of friends this time. Poke around, ask questions, have fun!

What all have you tried since the last time you posted this picture @ Advice on how to adjust the attached picture back in 07 ?

What software do you have available to use for improving your picture?

A much larger and higher resolution scan would certainly help in obtaining better results.

If you use Photoshop you can post fairly large pictures which are under 100k using the save for web function in Photoshop as described here:
Size, Quality and/or Format your Attached Images.. (Click here)

If you want to post a larger resolution that is over 100K then you can host your image elsewhere and attach a link in the thread, but also please attach an under 100K version (so the thread remains useful in the future, regardless of external links).
Other Hosts if you do not have your own site:
ImageVenue.com (3Meg max, free) pixentral.com (2Meg max, free) photobucket.com (1 Meg max free, 5 Meg PRO) mediafire.com (100 Meg per file, free) post a link in the thread to the site that is hosting the larger image.
Remember to attach an under 100K version in the thread so the thread remains useful in the future, regardless of external links.
You can also use these Free sites: (YouSendIt.com); (Podmailing.com);(Pando.com); (Sendspace.com) to send your original to your own email address, then open that email message, copy the link, and post that link in the thread.

Like Tommy says not very much can be done.
about all that can be done on the 30k image is a bit of noise reduction and some color correction...

There is almost a face in there, but not quite. You may have to borrow some features from another photo.

Re: any suggestions on how to fix this image

Hi

a suggestion..you can improve this photo for a better quality in a simple way by trying Photoscape, a free program. There are no masks and no layers in this program.

There are a lot of tools and effects in dark, light and colour you can tweak there, very subtile, and there is a good noise-reduction filter too.

Succes

Maya
