PS Contact Sheet II/Similar type 'action'

I have a folder with 30 1 inch square pictures in it that I would like to automate so that I end up with a file sized 8x11in with the 30 pictures in evenly spaced rows and columns at 300dpi.

In the past I have opened each file and dragged and dropped each file onto the one document and spaced them using 'smart guides'.... but this process is time consuming....

I tired using 'contact sheet II' but that seems to resize the pictures so that they end up being 2 inch squares and I cannot seem to find an option to make the files stay the same size as they were saved....

I thought that there may be a way to make this an 'action'?

I have spent the last three hours trying to figure out how to make this easier (and now I keep thinking that I could have made up lots of the sheets doing the old time consuming way!!!) - *frustrated*

Do you understand what I want to achieve... is there a way to make this happen?

Indesign Will take you about 2 mins. Photoshop is not the program to use for layouts.

you should also be able to resize for PS contact sheet

in PS contact sheet turn off auto spacing and change the number of rows and columns and image size will show in box on the right

My images usually need to be scaled down for contact sheets, so I don't have experience with them being scaled up. But if you have CS4, have you tried the Output module in Bridge? I'd make a PDF and set the columns and rows, then play around with spacings to be sure your images aren't enlarged to fit.

But as I've not actually done what you're doing, take that with a grain of salt.
