Have you tried Lightroom? I would like to see your photography. You can find some of mine in the link below

The majority of my current work is with the nude, so I can't post it here. I've updated my profile to show my blog URL and you can see my current work there. You'll also find links to my websites and such as well...

Oh, and Quantam3 - no, I've not yet done anything with Lightroom. I'm only barely grasping the basics of PhotoShop!

Go with Lightroom then. Much easier than Photoshop and much much easier if you have a darkroom background. Lightroom is just for developing photography and it's just that while PS is for much more things, so you will find all more like scattered instead in Lightroom all is organized to develop photos and nothing more. Also, you can develop RAW files in Lightroom, which is much better than the rasterized image.

Thanks Quantum...

I've heard that before. I don't have Lightroom but when I did some reading and research on it after the first version was released, that's not the impression I had of it.

I felt like it was geared more towards someone who did a lot of batch processing and image work as opposed to handling one image file at a time - like I do - like I used to do in my darkroom.

Maybe things are different with the newer version. I'll take another look -

Thanks!

Hi Jeanie,
Thanks for the welcome. I'm interested in learning more about photo painting using Photoshop. I prefer the more painterly technique like a loose watercolor or sketchy oils vs formal portraiture. I've been trying to use the art history brush, but I have trouble with the brushes scattering. Can anyone tell me why this happens?

Re: A Welcome Note To New Members (and anyone else

Hello I am new to the forums and have just been looking around.
There is so much here that I thought I would introduce myself in the thread of your wonderful warm welcome.

Recently I have set myself a task of putting over 500 old family slides that have sat in a box for nearly 40 years, through a special Photomaker machine and getting them onto my computer, so that I can burn them to discs.
The problem is the slides are not in very good condition and I have spent over a week dusting and removing some scratches. To post some here would mean resizing them smaller and losing the little detail there is already.
If I ask for help here regarding getting the colours looking a little better, is it possible to upload some of my images to Photobucket and post a link to them here.?
In Photobucket the size of the image will be over the restrictions allowed here ,but if it is just a link to the photos is that OK? Does the larger image show in the Forum or just the link?
Thank you for any help regarding the above.
Pat
