I am amazed at the talent and generosity of the people in this forum. I enjoy restoring old photo back to the the original. Giving respect to past is a wonderful feeling. I am new to forums, and it will take time to figure thing out but I look forward to the challenge. Thank you Paul |

Re: A Welcome Note To New Members (and anyone else who wants a warm welcome) Another new member who just joined. Ran across the site a while ago and filed it so I'd remember to come back and look. I'm finally back looking and it looks great! Looking forward to contributing and learning! My primary interest used to be landscape and nature photography, but I've been bitten by the portrait bug lately so that's my focus now. Dana

Re: A Welcome Note To New Members (and anyone else Just a quick note to say "Hi". I'm from southern Oregon, and use Elements 4, so I feel I'm about 90% there. Is there a space exclusively for Elements users? Thanks, Dudley

Re: A Welcome Note To New Members (and anyone else beatles2, paulafrog, dalphoto, Dudley, welcome to RetouchPRO!!!!! ![]() Happy you have 'found' us ... but even happier you came back!!! Dudley, personally, I use Photoshop, but from what I've read, many commands/options/procedures are the same, or at least very similar, in both Photoshop and Photoshop Elements .... anyway you can find the "space exclusively for Elements users" right here ....

Re: A Welcome Note To New Members (and anyone else My name is Doug and I am brand new to this forum. It was recommended by a friend at www.themagiccafe.com where I post regularly. I have just discovered this new world of photo retouching in the last couple weeks. It seems as if it has been waiting for me my whole life. I used to marvel at the examples of retouched and repaired photos, but I discovered that it was done with the help of software. Until that time, it seemed like magic to me! I was attracted to this because it perfectly fits my personality. I love to sit and do long, attention demanding, detail oriented projects, and I have a flair for the artistic. So this is right up my alley! I have watched some tutorials on YouTube, downloaded Gimp, and completed maybe a half dozen projects, and am tickled pink by the results! (I even put hair on my bald head!) I know and am confident that I can learn and master this. I am a sponge just soaking up everything I can learn! I am really glad to be here!

Re: A Welcome Note To New Members (and anyone else Doug, First, welcome to RetouchPro and we certainly hope you enjoy it. You may also want to start a new thread in the Salon forum, which is intended for introductions. Sometimes, when you use a 2 year old thread in an unrelated forum (like Image Help), you just don't get the responses you are looking for. I think the real fun will start when you create your first post from a work you have done, or contribute ideas to others learning the ropes. It is fun, addicting, and can be a bit of a distraction to work needing to be done. But, it has been very rewarding for me personally. Enjoy !

Re: A Welcome Note To New Members (and anyone else Hi all. I'm currently learning new features of PSCS4 and could always use retouching advice and suggestions. Right now I'm trying to master masking (selecting) fly-away hair using channels and/or layers.

Re: A Welcome Note To New Members (and anyone else Hello, all. I mainly wanted to post here in order to get rid of the message at the top of page telling me that I've never posted anything here before. So now I have defeated that message and crushed that system. I rock! I've been using this site for about a solid fortnight now, learning things here and there. The key is remembering them, which is not my strong suit. heh.

Re: A Welcome Note To New Members (and anyone else Hi I am called Jeff. I am new here. Have been around for a couiple weeks just reading all the wonderful ideas and processes and pretty much like a kid in a candy store. I have been using PS for a while but I am not familiar with all the little details and then once I started reading I found out I haven't even managed to get through the candy coating of PS and then you say wow that gooey center sure looks good but also looks pretty sticky. LOL Thanks to the whole forum, this place is a wonderful place to find.
