Question Removing a girls Pigment

Hey Guys,

I'm working on a series of photo's thats shows the results of people living more and more as individuals. Spiders that start living in caves lose their pigment after many generations. People live a lot more inside and i want to show this with a photo of a girl without pigmentation.

So I made a photo of a very white girl, but thats not enough. She needs white eyelashes and her hair needs less pigment, also her skin needs something. How would you guys do this?

I added the photo as an attachement, id like to hear your oppinions (the photo has not yet been retouched)

Rnid, Welcome to retouchPRO

You might try these threads for some help:

http://www.retouchpro.com/forums/pho...stic-skin.html

You might also consider freetransforming the eyes to make them larger then make them clear without pigment or very dark

be sure to post your final outcome and how you achieved it.. Good luck

Thanks baldy, ill have a look at those tutorials.
However with me its more about the color tones and not the retouch of blemishes etc. I know how to retouch however I am having problems making it pigmentless without making it look B&W..

Good, then you are familiar with the Dodge and Burn Technique.. this is a GIF made from Amy Dressers PSD just to show what is capable with D&B

Give it a couple seconds to change

Ow i didnt expect results like that..
Interesting, so its just simple dodge and burn?
Looks as if there has been some tone adjustment aswell though

I dunno Bout how simple it is...
a copy of the PSD can be downloaded here: http://www.mediafire.com/download.php?1tzlmmnmuzt
Check her D&B layer out!

Those other links show numerous ways to get white skin also.. (just leave off the plastic applications for no shine)

Re: Removing a girls Pigment

Why not just desaturate the image to take some color out?

Re: Removing a girls Pigment

It looks ok but somehow that is too black and white, probably because the background is black aswell.. Any idea on how to make the eyelashes white/yellow? I didnt notice her wearing mascara when we shot this, so i am trying to get rid of it.

Re: Removing a girls Pigment

Excuse the OT, but how did you make the highlights on your PSD 0lBaldy? Especially the "carve" layer eludes me....

Re: Removing a girls Pigment

Desaturate just the face area & dodge the pixels in the lashes.
Eventually you will have to stitch the eyes shut!
