Very Hairy baby This sweet thing was only 6 days old when we did her shoot. I have never ran across a baby that has this much hair. Any suggestions on getting rid of it or at least minimizing it??

Re: Very Hairy baby The clone stamp on "Lighten" mode should work fine. Maybe you could also take a look at the famous "Highpass sucks" thread on ModelMayhem and clone just on the HIGH layer so you don't get rid of all the contours. If you don't have time, you could also try to duplicate the areas, move them a few pixels around and change the mode to "Lighten". Basically the same as stamping but with far less control (although faster :-)).

| Re: Very Hairy baby Lorlee, another option is to apply a Surface Blur to a copy of the background layer and add a layer mask and paint back in the areas with detail you wish to keep like the eyes, nose, lips, primary creases / lines. For this low res image a radius value of 3 and a threshold of 30 was all that was required, along with 3 minutes of time. Regards, Murray Last edited by mistermonday; 04-16-2010 at 02:33 PM. | Re: Very Hairy baby Beautiful photo! I was thinking along the same lines. Personally, I would ask the parents if that's what they want. They might have a silly nickname for her being so hairy and will always remember her this way. Just my thoughts. |

Re: Very Hairy baby I have decided to leave her just the way she is. If it were my baby in that picture I would want her perfect! (hair and all!!)

I agree and I like the Professional way you've took the photo is gives it character and you've captures everything on her hairs, warts and all.

Re: Very Hairy baby Why would anybody want to remember this little one in any other way (unless this only happens during a full moon)? I think the image is just fine because it is her new born-uniqueness. It's who she is and will no doubt bring wonderful memories when looking back, the hair only last for a while.

Re: Very Hairy baby Hey guys, that is absolutely normal for a new born. Most of the kids born with that fuzz hair which usually goes away in the first 2 weeks. Remember all the babies you have seen on TV are not really new born, this one is 6 days old.
