| Help needed removing reflections Hi all, I'm new to the forums and hoping someone can help me with an image correction problem. On a recent trip to the zoo I toook some photos of panda bears for my kids. Unfortunately the pandas were behind glass and the resulting photos have many reflections that look like an overlay of a different color. I would really like some advice on how to remove these reflections without loosing the detail below them. On the attached photo there are reflections across the back wall, bear's paws and tree branch. Obviously I would like to keep the detail but correct the the color below the reflections to the same as the area around it. I'm using Photoshop CS4 (just!) Thanks in advance, Nick |

| Re: Help needed removing reflections Nick, Welcome to RetouchPro! There are a number of ways to eliminate the reflection. Here is a simple effective way for this image. If you cycle through the channels you will see that the Red channel shows almost no presence of the mostly blue reflection. Moreover the luminosity and contrast are good. So duplicate your background layer and with the duplicate layer active execute the following coomand from the Image Menu: Image>Apply Image; Select the Red channel, Blend mode Normal, opacity = 100%, OK. The resulting layer will be black & white. Change the blend mode of that layer from Normal to Luminosity. Next add a new blank layer and change its blend mode to Color. Select the Paint brush from your tool bar and on that new color layer Alt+Click to sample a good color adjacent to where you have a refelction and then pint over the reflection. Do this in all the areas where you need to eliminate the reflections. I hope this helps. Regards, Murray |
