| Hi I'm really new to photo editing, and this site. I was wondering if anyone would be able to help me with one of my photos that the eyes are closed? |

| Re: Eyes are closed in my picture Leanne, welcome to RetouchPro! Please attach the photo so members can look at it and provide you with some advice. If the eyes are closed the usual procedure would be to: - copy and blend in eyes from another photo of the same person - Copy and blend in eyes of someone else who is in the same photo - Find a pair of eyes from somene else in another photo or stock photo and blend those in. I say blend in because the new eyes need to be sized to fit over the closed eyes and you need to match lighting, texture, shadows, etc. Regards, Murray |

| Re: Eyes are closed in my picture Leanne, having that other image with open eyes makes it easy to fix. You just draw a loose selection around the open eyes, copy and paste them over the closed eyes. Reposition them so they are aligned with the head tilt, then add a layer mask and paint around them to blend them in. I am sure you can do it if you try. The photo had a pretty high amount of color noise so running a noise filter on the final image helps and a touch of brightness to bring out the highlights. Here is a low resolution sample below. | Re: Eyes are closed in my picture Hey Leanne... It seems to me that the other photo with the eyes open has a better expression. Why open the eyes on the one with the lesser expression. Sometimes the answer is not retouching but rather to go with the better image. Hope you are doing well. Take care. Alan. |

To insure threads remains useful in the future, regardless of external links always attach an under 100K version of your picture in the thread, unless prohibited by copyright... If you want to post a larger resolution that is over 100K then you can host your image elsewhere and attach a link in the thread as you did here. You can post up to 5 fairly large pictures which are under 100k using the 'save for web' function in Photoshop for each of them as described here: Size, Quality and/or Format your Attached Images.. (Click here) How to attach Files/Images to your Posts or Threads: (Click here) FAQ: Will you do my restoration/retouch/repair for me? No. This is a site for learning, and we will gladly help you learn to do it yourself. We have a "Image Help" forum (where this thread is) just for that purpose. There is also a "Classifieds" forum if you're willing to pay one of our members to work on your photo. What type photo editing software are you using? If it has copy, cut and paste, (which is what I did here) cut the ladies out of the one picture and paste them into the one with the complete arch... some levels, sharpening, and noise removal was also added |
