Help w/ retouching background

I did a shoot last night where the floor and backdrop were "supposed" to be white... "supposed" to be... :-)

There is a seem between the floor and backdrop that I would like to blend together and I would like to lighten up the backdrop, does not need to be white white, but not such a difference between the floor.

I would appreciate guidance how to best approach this issue.

Doug, there are a number of ways. A quick and effective one is to grab the Dodge Tool and select Midtones. Then just brush over the gray area (100%). You may want to reduce the tool opacity when going over sensitive edges like the hair or use the Quick Select tool to protect the subject first.
