Help replacing the sky

HELP! My PW wouldn't fire my OCF and as a result, I used available light for these two shots. As a result, I blew the sky out.

Can anyone help replace the sky with a blue one? I couldn't even recover the sky in LR...it's gone.

These are low res to post here...I can email the raw file.

Any takers?

THANKS!

Re: Help replacing the sky

You can find some really nice free sky images at SXC.hu. You should be able to just overlay the two images and blend in the new sky. If you can not find a suitable sky image, some of the mebers here could pull one out of their archives.

Re: Help replacing the sky

Thanks for the reply. I have a ton of sky files...I couldn't get them to blend right. The trees and leaves gave me havoc, and the tops of their heads. I can't get it to look right...I need some help! I even tried to magic wand the white sky and use the paint bucket with a light blue....no luck. It looked awful.

Re: Help replacing the sky

Just place the sky image over the people image and change the blend mode of the layer top layer to Darker Color. You will get a little of the sky spilling over the grass but just add a layer mask to the sky layer and paint with a black brush over the contaminated areas. This whole process will take you about 2 minutes.

Or you can use selective color for the color white
in photoshop.
