Help with color retouching

Hello,

I have an image that I am doing for a test, I need to change the background color of the fabric but keep all the flowers, including the white (almost non-visible) ones the original color. All the selection tools I have used make it too choppy and I don't want to have to go through and outline everything with the pen tool. Any help would be appreciated.

Remove white & introduce a different color.

There are many ways to do this, so here is just another one.
- Use the Quick Select tool to remove the white background of a duplicate layer in a couple of seconds
- Add a new blank layer filled with you new color
- Double click to bring uo the Layer Style window and use the blend-if slider to replace the white backgrund of the garment with the new color below.
