The best resizer I have seen is OnOneSoftware - Genuine Fractals. It describes the image with a fractal, then re-creates it at any resolution you need. One can get a 500% increase while maintaining quality.

From what I can see of the image, you could probably re-create the image at the size you want in Photoshop.

Or search again in Google, Yahoo, Live for images that are medium size or large size.

Andrew Rodney and I did a 2 1/2 hour show on just this subject, with exhaustive examination of every possible method. You can watch Andrew's full-sized desktop as he runs through many different methods and examples, comparing and contrasting each. There are also downloadable notes (link given at the end of the show). It's entitled "Resolution". You can rent it here.

Why not do it in Illustrator or photoshop so you can have a crisp image. Just copy the style of the original image you're copying.

I use Perfect Resize 7 Professional Edition, which I bought as part of a suite of software. Works great. I've scanned small images at a minimum dpi of 1200 and using this software I able to print small poster size images with the resulting enlarged copy of the original scan. I believe the largest increase in size was 600%, although this really depends upon the size of the original.

Interesting Class. If you have time could you show a sample of it's interpolation compared to a PS enlargement of the same file. Cheers.

I believe you can download a free trial and try it yourself:

Re: How do I make this image bigger without losing

A great product is Alienskin Blowup, which is what I use. It uses vectors. It converts the image to vectors, enlarges it, then produces the enlargement from the vector map.

Vectors allow arbitrarily large scaling without loss of resolution. That's what allows Illustrator vector graphics and TrueType fonts to scale to pretty much any size. Vectors cannot add missing resolution to low-res images but vectors can preserve what's there very well.

I downloaded Genuine Fractals and Alienskin Blowup awhile back and compared them side by side. To me, for my test images, Alienskin Blowup did a slightly better job. Not day and night, but I did notice a small difference so I went with Blowup.

I'd recommend downloading the candidates listed mentioned in this thread and seeing which one works best for you.
