Help making wall paint even

I need some help figuring out how to seamlessly paint a white stripe of unpainted wall and match its color to the rest. Attached is a picture of the problem area.

Thanks in advance for any suggestion

Re: Help making wall paint even

This might work with a little modification to get what you need:
  • Select an area of red wall above the white paint - keeping to similar proportions of the painted area. EDIT>Copy>paste. You will need to do in two sections right side first.
  • Move area down to cover painted area and blur a little to hide hard edge - I did not go quite far enough with my versions!
  • Using the same copied area move it into position on the left side - mask overlap areas as needed.
  • Bit of D&B and Patch tool as required.
  • Set layer mode to either Darken as in first image to allow some background through or Normal as in the second to hide underlying texture.

Hope this might be of some use

Hi Graphirus

As always there are many ways to get the job done in Photoshop. Here is another way.

I am no expert on Content Aware Fill (CAF). I created a layer filled with the paint and then used a Layer Mask to have it fill in the desired areas. If the particular paint pattern is not exactly what you want, just run CAF again and it will give you a new pattern.
