Photo background question / help?

Hi everyone!

I have a photo that I have been trying to edit the background myself to erase the dolphins but whenever I try it using layers or smart re-colour, it looks very forced and fake.

I would like the colour of the wallpaper to be the same, colour and without the dolphins or orange circles. I was wondering if anyone could give me any suggestions or help so that I can remove the dolphins without it looking like I've painted the background and seem genuine?

You could use a frequency separation to clone these out.

What do you mean by frequency separation to clone it out? Could you use a gradient to make the background pop?

Using PhotoShop CS6 I used the Content Aware tool to remove the hand/camera, as I found it to be too distracting. I removed the elements from the background with the clone tool then used the Highlights/Shadows tool to brighten up the face a bit and used a gradient mask to tone down the brightness of left side of the picture.

try to practice pen tool cause with this tool you can remove anything from a photo.
