color fringe (yellow purple) post camera raw

Hi!

Stumbled across this strange thing today.
I processed a photo in PS and after a while I zoomed in and noticed purple and yellow frindges on my "clean up" layer.
They are not on any other layer and from whay I know I have only used dodge/burn ans clone on that layer.

Any ideas of what could have happened?

Thanks

Oscar

Somehow you managed to nudge only the Blue layer what appears to be approx 2 pixels straight up, thereby mis-aligning the channels and causing the yellow and purple. Just Select the whole image, activate the B channel by Crtl+5 or vis the Channels palette and use the up arrow key to nudge it 2 pixels and everything should be back to normal.
Cheers, Murray

You need to make sure you do Select ALL (Ctrl+A) after you select / activate the B channel. If you don't make a selection you will get that error msg.

1. select the layer that channel has been moved on
2. select the blue channel
3. ctrl+a
4. movetool+arrow up
- this moves the selection?

Re: color frindge (yellow purlple) post camera raw

Crtl A selects the entire image and therefore the entire channel. So when you nudge it up with the up arrow you are nudging the entire channel, since it is the entire channel that is offset by two pixels. Also note, you have stated that you are selecting the layer on which the B channel has been moved - that may be the case. However it may be the composite flattened image that might have been moved. I don't know what your layer stack looks like.
However if you take the single image you attached to your orig post, and you nudge the B channel up 2 px, the image re-aligns.
