need some help with reflections

I would like to do an image of my car in Photoshop. Problem is the reflections on the car will look dumb after changing the background. Suggestions to remove the reflections from the car?

Maybe you could post the photo so we can see what you mean? Here are generic instructions http://www.ehow.com/how_6455950_remo...photoshop.html however if you post the photo you could get a more detailed walkthrough.

Re: need some help with reflections

Expect to do a lot of cloning. Then you have to create a reflection for the new setting.

I believe Ian Goode handled this exact problem in his "BMW" show

Yeah Scatterbrained is right, the clone tool is how I'd attack this one.

Re: need some help with reflections

Re: need some help with reflections

Photographing a car "properly" would depend on where you intend to composite it, but if you need to use that exact shot, you could just paint out the weird reflections and then layer on some new material. I think it would be very tricky to clone that out. Too many tonal gradients. You could try content aware fill for some of them, but I think in a lot of instances, you'be be better off just painting.

Re: need some help with reflections

Find a big empty parking lot - somewhere where the car will see nothing but ground and sky (overcast would be good) and shoot it again.
