Re: How can I eliminate the girl in the background

Welcome to RetouchPRO
Hope you enjoy your stay here and make lots of friends.
Poke around, have fun!

The Clone tool will do an impressive job of eliminating her... just make many different area selections that will blend and go with the background to cover and replace her.

If you use Photoshop you can post fairly large pictures which are under 100k using the 'save for web' function in Photoshop as described here:
Size, Quality and/or Format your Attached Images.. (Click here)

How to attach Files/Images to your Posts or Threads:

If you want to post a larger resolution that is over 100K then you can host your image elsewhere and attach a link in the thread (as you did here), but also please attach an under 100K version (so the thread remains useful in the future, regardless of external links).

Re: How can I eliminate the girl in the background

Doing it well takes several stages. You would do an initial masking of it. You can mask the background, but I find it easier to mask at least a portion of the people in the foreground, get the edge hardness just right, and have them on their own layer above the background. From there you need to fill it in with something else. This means extending background elements or replacing them altogether. If the area you're removing is distinct, you can make a an extra fill layer with a duplicate mask just to check for gaps in your work. The question is a little broad, but if you narrow it down I might be able to provide more detail.

You can try Context Awareness feature of Photoshop...though it doesnt give the good result always.
