How to get such photo effect?

I am just amazed by the following shot! But I am wondering how to have such effect? Is it in camera or editing has been applied after taking the shot?

Sorry for the low resolution image as they are not allowing file more than 100KB.

Editors edit, retouchers retouch, and designers design.
Yes, of course, it has been retouched.

Re: How to get such photo effect?

There are at least seven often used colour adjustment tools in PS. If you are lucky you can achieve what you want in one hit. Often though you have to mask, mix, match, blend, tweak etc to get the effect you want. We can't know what the photographer's original was like (they might even print and scan for all we know!) so you are probably better off experimenting yourself to see how those tools get you to the result you want. You will learn a lot just by 'playing' with curves and sliders.

There are Presets that can be applied to an image to get these kinds of effects. In Light room you will get plenty of effects. Color look up option is also loaded with good effect presets.

Re: How to get such photo effect?

In PS the Match Color... under Image adjustments can do wonders (some times).
You need a source image with the colors you want and then "apply" it.
Here's a "normal" photo is applies as source for color match on the left part of the photo. (Terrible that an image focused forum like this have such a low size limit!)

Oh its something interesting. Thank you for explaining it and showing the way as well. Yeas I am so agree with you as well about the low resolution image uploading problem here.

Re: How to get such photo effect?

If it was shot on film, there were some film types, like Kodachrome II(?) that would give such warm colors automatically.
