Help achieving low contrast fashion look

Hey guys,

I've been trying for some time now to get a low contrast "greyish" look to some of my fashion photographs. I've been working mainly on Tone Curves, trying to crush those highlights... but still I guess there's a catch somewhere I'm missing.

Here are references to where I wanna get:

Here's atacched my present results so far, for comparison.

Thanks in advance for your help. Cheers!

Re: Help achieving low contrast fashion look

Sooo many ways to create colour effects. Often the methods are case sensitive too. Try a simple approach on the 'red' girl (your posted sample, not the original).

Make two copies of the image so you have 3 pix in a layer stack - Background, layer 1 and layer 2. Convert layer 2 to Black and white and set opacity to about 55%. Create a 3rd layer and fill with solid white colour. Set the blending mod to Overlay and drop the opacity to about 55%. For further adjustment switch off the Background layer and play with the opacity of layer 1.
1.Copy of background
3.Solid White

Adjust to taste!
