| | | Attaching Files or Images to Threads or Posts For those who, like me, find uploading and attaching Images/files to Posts a bit confusing, here is how to do it:
Read first Jeanie's excellent Tip 'RESIZE IMAGES FOR RetouchPRO' about optimizing size and resolution... - Once in the "Post New Thread" or "Post Reply" Window, scroll down to the "Additional Option" Bar and, if necessary, click on the Arrows on the right end of the Bar, to open the dialog Window. (Image 1).
- Click on the "Manage Attachment" Bar. (Image 2).
- In the "Upload File" Window, click:
1) on the "Browse" Tab which will let you search your HD for the Files/Images you wish to attach .. 2) on the "Upload" Tab. (Image 3).
- If the Files/Images have been correctly uploaded , you'll see their name and size under "Current Attachments" in the "Upload File" Window. At this point you can "Submit" your post or, if you change your mind about the Attachment, you can "Remove" it by clicking on the "Remove" Tab. (Image 4).
- 3) When satisfied, click on the 'submit New Thread' or 'submit Reply' tab at the bottom of your 'composing' window.

| | | Thanks Flora. I did that but when i reviewed my post it didn't show it on there. How do you get from that last step to putting it on my post for people to click on? Sorry for my silly questions! Thanks for that link that was great info.

| | | Re: Attaching Files or Images to Threads or Posts My first post yesterday I did not have these other items to select from. It was a basic plain text box with nothing much to offer. If I had of had this as I do this morning I would have figured it out easily enough.
Are there some areas where this is not available or turned off? Or is it that since I made a post it finally shows up?
I am happy to see this today. Thanks, Can |

I am glad there was a place to try it without posting off subject on another forum. I'll get the hang of all of this. I'm going to love this place, I think. Thanks.. |

Thanx
I am not really in that bad of shape, but I liked the phrase that he used. |

| | | Re: Attaching Files or Images to Threads or Posts Where does it give limits as to the number of images that can be uploaded per post (or loaded from another server per post)?
Do the uploaded images also end up or count against limits for one's gallery?
What is the limit for a Patron's gallery v. non-subscriber?
I couldn't find anything about this in FAQ! I'm sure it's clearly written somewhere!

The Forum HTML codes from the host sites like imageshack do not work if the HTML code below is OFF
To post a thumbnail like below, you go to Advanced Options below the comment section Then/OR to the Additional Options area below the comment box and click on manage attachments to upload a file which has been sized to within under 100Kb from your computer or an URL... Then browse your computer for the file to upload or enter the URL to the file that is under 100K and a thumbnail will be supplied automatically

Asher | Sorry I missed these earlier. I guess they're not "F" enough for the FAQ
5 attached images per post.
Totally separate from Gallery in every respect (different software, even)
Patron currently gets 50MB vs 1MB for non-patrons (again, only for the Gallery, no total limit for forum).
And I do prefer not linking to images on other servers, since those links can break and that makes the forum thread essentially useless for future readers. |

| | | Re: Attaching Files or Images to Threads or Posts There is an area here called "Testing_1_2_3" where you can test any thing you want to post. OR On the top menu (at the top of each page), press "Site Menu" then On the flyout press "Forums" then scroll down to the bottom to "Testing_1_2_3"..
On ALL your posts there is also an edit button at the bottom of your post... press it to change/edit your post OR delete parts or everything if it was just a test.. |
