Help needed....drop shadow

Hi,
How would I make a drop shadow for a piece of furniture on a white background?

drop shadow

This is by far the easiest tutorial on creating a drop shadow that I've ever seen. It can easily be applied to your need as for the text he mentions in the tute.

Trimoons example is very good and you have the benefit of a visual aid, you cant really make the process any easier, he has done a terrific job.

For something like that, I would use a 3d program.
Unless the piece is complicated, shouldn't take too long to model and camera match.
Then the matte/shadow planes.
Toss in some lights and/or do an occlusion pass.
But that's me.
