| Re: Business Name/© Action You might want to check out the QuickTime tutorials here: http://www.russellbrown.com/tips_tech.html Scroll down to "Digital Watermark Branding" "Discover the fine art of creating an Action that will magically work on both horizontal and vertical images." | Re: Business Name/© Action Hi I hope you don't mind but I took a try with your photo and used the "paint with light" tutorial on it. It is a bit more dramatic. |

| Re: Business Name/© Action Quote:
* Open a representative image (portriat or landscape... makes no difference) * Drag horizontal and vertical guides that intersect near the bottom right corner. For this example let's say they cross .5" from bottom and .5" from the right edge, but this measurement is completely up to you. * In this case so you can see the text when recording the action, set foreground color to black (press D key) Record your action: * Create a text layer and type whatever you want. Don't worry about positioning at this point. * When finished typing, accept the text layer (click the checkmark at the top of screen) * Select > Select all * Layer > Align to Selection > Bottom edges * Layer > Align to Selection > Right edges * Select > Deselect * Click Move tool (4-headed arrow) in the Tools palette * Drag text into position marked by guides * Apply a Layer Style of your choice to the text (something embossed usually works well) STOP recording When you play the action on either a portriat or landscape image, the text will be positioned in the same place in terms of distance from the bottom and right edge. Does this help? ------------------- Update... For your specific situation you'll need two text layers: one for the horizontal text, one for the vertical text. The process of selecting, aligning, moving and applying a layer style is the same. You'll just need to do it twice. Last edited by DannyRaphael; 11-22-2006 at 05:35 PM. | Re: Business Name/© Action DannyRaphael Does the resolution of the image matter when creating this action? Reason I ask is cause I created the action, but when I ran the action on another photo the text size was very large. What is the distance that you should place the copyright info on a image? The image I posted when it is printed as a 4x6 it cut everything except the 2006 off. Last edited by extrememc; 11-23-2006 at 04:40 PM. |

| Re: Business Name/© Action Is there anyway to combine the to layers of text? That would allow me to me the whole text at one time on certain photos. Can I add to this action with out recreating it? When placing this action on a image that is 72 resolution it test appears real small. How do you avoid this? |

| Re: Business Name/© Action re: Does the resolution of the image matter when creating this action? Reason I ask is cause I created the action, but when I ran the action on another photo the text size was very large. When adding text to an image, resolution is definitely a factor. Unfortunately there is no way an action by itself can scale text size depending on things like image height, width or resolution. Scripts (by themselves or in conjunction with actions) can do this type of thing. One solution is to create an action for each resolution. re: What is the distance that you should place the copyright info on a image? The image I posted when it is printed as a 4x6 it cut everything except the 2006 off. I don't know. Open a 4x6 image and record an action that sizes and positions text where you want it. re: Is there anyway to combine the two layers of text? That would allow me to apply the whole text at one time on certain photos. Try this: * Right-click on each layer and choose Rasterize. * Then click on the top layer and apply Layer > Merge down re: Can I add to this action with out recreating it? Yes. Click on the last step, then click the RECORD button. re: When placing this action on a image that is 72 resolution it text appears real small. How do you avoid this? Record a separate action for 72 ppi images that uses a font size that is large enough. |
