Images proc'd on PC look more red on a Mac

i'm having a problem with images processed on a PC looking noticably more red when viewed on a Mac. the color was not altered in the processing, and the images (before and after processing) have identical color when viewed on other PCs, but different color when viewed on Macs, always more red in the edited image. the color profile is not changed in the processing.

any ideas?

is this in a browser or photoshop?

GSD, you say the profile has not changed but was the profile embedded in the file when you saved it? Also what color management settings are you using?

on 2 Macs at work, the images look different in both Preview and in Photoshop. at home on my Mac, they only look different in Preview.

sRGB is embedded when saving. it is also the original profile (as far as i can tell). i'm using the Gen. Purpose 2 color setting.

i found out that the 2 Macs at work have some custom settings on them to try to match the printers there, so i could understand if they looked different from the PCs, but what's confusing me is that only the processed images look different.

The things that are really key here are:
1. What is the Photoshop color space that the machines are working in (both at home and at the office). AND
2. What are the color management policies set to.

Both of those things can be found in Photoshop by checking under Photoshop Edit Menu: Edit>Color Settings

Lets assume that the Macs in your office are working in one color space (perhaps AdboeRGB) and you are working in another space such as sRGB. Even if you have saved your file with the ICC profile for sRGB embedded, if your Macs at the office have the Color Setrtings Options set to ignore enbedded profiles then they will assume your image was prepared in whatever color space they are working in. I always recomment in the Edit Color Settings doialog that you select all three options:
"Preserve Embedded Profile" AND check the 3 boxes called:
"Profile Mismatches: Ask when opening Ask when pasting
"Missing Profiles Ask when Opening"
You may be annoyed a little with dialog boxes upon opening some files but you will be guaranteed to make the right choices and will be sure your images look the same from machine to machine.
