Printing: ink peels off hp glossy photo paper

Curious as to whether anybody has ever had a problem with ink peeling off hp glossy photo paper. I printed out photo, looked great, good quality. But after a week in wallet, noticed the ink was peeling off and leaving a very faint impression of photo underneath. Could it be ink or bad batch of paper?

I know this is old, but i have had this problem before. It would happen to me when the ink was not compleatly dry and I touched it. Also, if there was lint on the paper, the ink would sometimes not take and fall off.

I dont think its a bad batch...herd somewhere that you were not suposed to touch or bend a printed photo for 12 or 24 hours. Dont know if its true, I rarely acutally do it.

I have seen this happen with refilled ink. All inject paper is not just "paper". It has a special coating that swells when presented with the ink solvents and then "dries" by shrinking back down as the solvents evaporate off. Some papers are very particular to the ink laid down, I've seen ink actually bead up and never dry. HP paper is not a generic paper, it wants HP ink. I had troubles with it and my CIS (continuous ink system) ink (MIS ink). Kodak paper worked very well as did Kirkland (Costco) and a paper I bought from Inkjetart (www.inkjetart.com) which was very cheap but very decent.
