Chet, thanks for the clarification at least as far as you can relating to the printing world .

Having worked years ago producing Lith and Line films and Bromides for various printers I became aware that terms that I thought I understood could be different in the print world. Obviously Solvent is one of those that I would interpret differently/incorrectly in that world as I would include water as a solvent as it is a solvent for most salts.

You are correct confusion abounds - not least of which my own at times

Hi Tony,

You and me both - I'd never considered a solvent to be anything other than oil based. Now, I haven't seen the word "bromide" for a loooooong time.
