Why do marked areas disappear

Kindly refer to the attached links.

The areas marked as red colour looks absolutely fine on display (even the calibrated display) but doesnt print when printing. The Original Image was RGB thats converted to CMYK with Black Point Compensation ON which gives me a output that looks fine and clear on display but is not printing. The Black Point Compensation does not seem to be reflected in the print.

Re: Why do marked areas disappear

It is not clear why you converted to CMYK as I would guess that you are referring to an inkjet printer.

If you are then this could explain the problem. Most if not all inkjet printers expect RGB data even though they use CMYK inks and internally convert RGB data to CMYK.

Therefore if you are sending CMYK data then you are confusing the poor printer and it does not know what to make of the numbers presented in the data

What printer make and model number are you using?

Try converting image back to RGB and then using soft proofing try another print

Re: Why do marked areas disappear

CMYK is very device dependent. You don't convert to it unless you have a reason to do so. CMYK also has ink limits, which are never higher than 350% and usually 300% or lower. It also has the issue of black generation.

If you just want to run something on your inkjet, use RGB. The driver expects RGB. Some RIPs are designed to accept CMYK, but there's no reason to discuss that unless you have a genuine reason to use them.
